WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA-43) issued the following statement on the shooting at the Chabad of Poway Synagogue in Poway, California, which resulted in the death of one woman and injured three others:

"I am both horrified and heartbroken by the shooting at the Chabad of Poway Synagogue in Poway, California, which resulted in the death of one woman and injured three others. This unconscionable act of hate and senseless violence occurred on the last day of Passover – a holiday celebrated internationally by the Jewish community – in a place of worship that is for so many in Poway, a sacred sanctuary in a world filled with chaos. I extend my sincere condolences to the victims, their families, and the entire Jewish community. Our resolve as a country must be to stand together in unity, love, and tolerance during such a difficult time."
